Janice M. Anderson, M.D.

Dr. Janice M. Anderson is a board-certified practitioner and is a faculty member in the Forbes Family Practice Residency Program.  Dr. Anderson has been in practice since 1987. After residency, she spent five years in rural West Virginia under the National Health Service Scholarship Program.  There she enjoyed a wide variety of experiences, including her special interest, obstetrics.

Dr. Anderson is currently coordinating the obstetrics curriculum for Forbes Family Practice Residency Program in Monroeville. She also teaches and organizes the local Advanced Life Support for Obstetrics (ALSO) course. With Dr. Elizabeth Stifel, she co-authored a chapter on contraception in the textbook: Women's Health in Primary Care.  Dr. Anderson belongs to the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, the Pittsburgh Obstetrical and Gynecological Society, and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine.

Dr.  Anderson does public speaking in many areas including maternity care, gynecology, osteoporosis, as well as GLBT and women's health issues.

Dr. Anderson interests include needlework and enjoying her committed partner and son.
